about lux nova

Lux Nova, Latin for “new light” is a term used to describe the illumination of stained-glass windows in the Gothic Cathedrals of the 12th century. Representing a shift from darkness to divine light, transforming physical light into spiritual experience.

Lux Nova Yoga & Wellness was born from my personal journey on the path of yoga to the power and splendor of the heart. Supported by the wisdom of the spiritual masters who come before us, it is my belief that each of us possess an inherent bliss and are divine by nature.

By engaging in the practices of yoga & ayurveda, we can shift our experience from the darkness of ignorance into the divine light of awareness. This transformation reaches into our relationships, interactions, and overall way of being.

About mary elizabeth santangelo

A devoted student for over two decades, I am a 200-hour certified yoga teacher with over 320 hours of continuing education. My studies are rooted in the non-dual Tantric tradition of Kashmir Shaivism, a householder path which encourages us to transmute our daily life experiences into spiritual nourishment.

I completed my 200-hour certification through the Shambhava Yoga Tradition in 2016 where I developed a transformative and embodied experience of yoga beyond asana. I owe a debt of gratitude to my teachers: Seane Corn, Sally Kempton, Janet Stone, Jason Crandall, Myra Lewin and more. I am presently in training to become an Ayurveda Health Advisor through the Hale Pule school.

My personal journey on the path of yoga has revealed to me that bliss is inherent in each of us and available if consciously pursued. Through heart-led practices, it is my goal to empower fellow students to access your true Self. By experiencing our inherent divinity, we can move with adaptability, compassion, and levity through an ever-changing world.

All that is required to step toward our true nature is a deep wish to grow.
